$69.370 - $89.510 - $109.650The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.
What You Will Do
The Radiology Manager is responsible for the overall management of the department, including coordinating the service excellence, administrative, clinical, performance improvement, personnel, informational, regulatory compliance and operational functions of the department. In collaboration with the entity (hospital) leadership team, the Radiology Manager coordinates the delivery of department services within the hospital. The manager also collaborates with system and entity leadership, medical staff, imaging services management team, and imaging services personnel to plan, implement and evaluate programs and activities to meet the needs of the department and Sharp HealthCare. Supervises and coordinates department leaders and staff using performance improvement techniques and the system-wide service excellence program to ensure a safe, efficient and effective imaging service. Sets and achieves department goals and objectives with input from key stakeholders. Participates in and oversees the hiring, career development and professional registry compliance of department staff. Optimizes staff utilization and performance. Assumes responsibility for facilitating and monitoring JCAHO and OSHA compliance within the department. Acts as resource and facilitator regarding policies and procedures. Oversees the evaluation of, and recommends, products, supplies, space and capital imaging equipment. Develops and monitors department budgets, and new programs that support department, entity and system goals. Participates in planning, data collection and the preparation of reports as necessary. Represents the department at assigned meetings, and other internal and external activities. Ensures open and clear lines of inter- and intradepartmental communication. Keeps abreast of new developments in radiology. Assures compliance with the Radiation Safety program. Serves as a resource to all Sharp HealthCare employees as appropriate. Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 2 Years supervisory experience
- 5 Years clinical experience in imaging services
- Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) - CA Department of Public Health -REQUIRED

- Bachelor's Degree
- Master's Degree
- 2 Years management experience at the department level

Reviews or coordinates the review of quality variance reports for designated unit(s), identifies trends, and develops action plans for resolution.
Identifies and trends the learning needs of staff and works with appropriate staff to assure needs are met.
Assures that the standards of care are implemented and evaluated, and updates or revised as necessary.
Assures delivery of quality patient care that meets all accreditation and regulatory standards.
Reviews, revises, develops and maintains safety policies and procedures related to department activities and work environment. Reviews current operations and assesses appropriateness of and compliance with safety policies. Works proactively with biomedical engineering, risk management and others to ensure ongoing compliance. - FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
Maintains operating unit(s) within budgeted costs per Units of Services. Develops achievable action plans when actual costs exceed budgeted costs per UOS.
Contributes to the identification of, and operationalizes, cost reduction measures or identifies revenue-enhancing opportunities.
Maintains unit productivity at >97% overall.
Participates in annual budget development. - HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
Assures that staff performance appraisals are conducted in a timely manner.
Coaches, counsels and institutes developmental and corrective action plans as necessary.
Assures appropriate staff and skill mix for optimal unit functioning.
Assures that all pertinent information is provided to staff through staff meetings and other forms of formal and informal communication.
Enable staff to participate in scheduling and staffing. Assure schedule is posted within designated time frame.
Assists staff to access services provided by Human Resources, EAP and EQD.
Maintains up-to-date employee records. - LEADERSHIP
Effectively institutes change, supporting unit, level of care and organizational goals.
Maintains a positive and productive relationship with the medical staff, peers, patients, families, directors and senior administrator.

- Specialized, theoretical, practical and technical skills acquired through education and experience.
- Managerial / Supervisory skills – Leads by example. Demonstrated ability to remain flexible in a rapidly changing environment and current dynamic health care climate. Two or more years in a leadership position. Demonstrated ability to plan, implement and evaluate one’s own work, and to work independently with minimal observation or supervision.
- Human Relations Skills – Able to model service excellence for others. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with others clearly and effectively.
