Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$30.785 - $38.481 - $46.177

What You Will Do
The Chamber Technician - Certified is responsible for performing administrative, technical, and organizational duties to ensure excellent and efficient practices related to patient care, quality, and consistency of care, HIPPA compliance, and relations with patients. Under the direction of the Ld HBO Program & Safety Coord, the Chamber Technician will administer Hyperbaric Oxygen


Required Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1 Year experience in direct patient care.
  • Less Than 1 Year multi-place chamber experience.
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED
  • Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) - National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology -REQUIRED


Essential Functions

  • Database and record management
    Patient care documentation completed per department guidelines of care and policy and procedure.
    Regulatory logs and chamber records maintained according to guidelines.
    Patient database reflects accurate information.
    Confidential information handled discretely in accordance with department policy/procedure.
    Accurately obtain and document pre-treatment patient assessment, which will include vital signs, fingerstick glucose, as indicated, and pre-treatment questions, and submit to provider for review and approval or disapproval, prior to the start of daily HBOT.
    Help facilitate bookings and scheduling, answer phones and perform light administrative work.
  • Equipment maintenance and operation
    Patients treated according to treatment protocols.
    Chamber set up and shut down performed according to procedure.
    Sets up and operates all equipment used in chamber.
    Chamber maintained in accordance with annual preventive maintenance schedule.
    Demonstrates ongoing knowledge of emergency procedures related to chamber operations.
    Demonstrates ongoing knowledge of physiological effects of hyperbarics.
  • Patient care
    Adheres to aseptic technique and universal precautions.
    Consults with other departments as appropriate for an interdisciplinary approach to patient care.
    Transports, transfers, and positions patients safely.
    Performs transcutaneous monitoring and documents results.
    Performs wound care in accordance with physician order and reports observations/findings to RN/Healthcare Team.
    Educate and orient patients about the delivery of hyperbaric medicine oxygen treatments (HBOT).
    Provide excellent customer service to patients, and their accompanying family members and/or caregivers.
    Provides pre and post procedure education and reassurance about the delivery of hyperbaric medicine oxygen treatments (HBOT): What the procedure is, how long it is going to take, physician involved, positioning, instructions related to procedure, patient satisfaction form, etc.
    Interacts and communicates in a manner to reflect an understanding of the patient's age, culture, state of health, level of comprehension.
    Communicates and interacts with the patient's family in a way that is perceived positive and supportive while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Patient safety
    Performs daily pre and post dive observation of patient and reports patient status, observed changes and responses to RN.
    Attends to patient during compression, at treatment depth and decompression by continuously observing patients and attending to needs.
