Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$72.422 - $93.448 - $114.474


The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.



What You Will Do
Provide the Interventional Radiology department and other responsible imaging modalities with leadership, oversight and direction to successfully achieve departmental operational performance and productivity goals. Provide clinical, technical and subject matter expertise in all invasive imaging modalities to provide excellent patient care and safety. Assure all regulatory and accreditation standards are met and/or exceeded. Contribute to developing the annual budgets and achieving budgetary and financial goals. Assist with developing and upgrading technology and programs to meet the organizations and community needs.

Supervise Interventional Radiology and other responsible modality employees in all job classifications to include hiring, coaching/counseling, professional and technical development. Maintain departmental productivity and provide on-going evaluation of staffing effectiveness and efficiencies. Collaborate with supervisor(s), peer(s) and physician(s) for implementing best practices, meeting quality indicators and developing and updating department policies and procedures.

Maintain an employee orientation, education and training programs to measure competencies, cross train between imaging modalities and provide career growth. Provide direction and initiatives for meeting patient satisfaction goals. Meet regulatory and accreditation standards. Collaborate with patient care and support departments for inter-departmental teamwork and synergy. Assist with developing new programs, service lines and community needs. In conjunction with the Imaging Director assure 7 day a week/ 24 hour leadership support and accountability for the department's performance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3 years of clinical experience.
  • 2 years of managerial or leadership experience.
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) - CA Department of Public Health AND Radiologic Technologist Fluoroscopy Permit - CA Department of Public Health -REQUIRED OR California Registered Nurse (RN) - CA Board of Registered Nursing -REQUIRED
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • Certified Radiology Nurse (CRN) - Radiologic Nursing Certification Board -PREFERRED


Other Qualification Requirements

  • Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) - Radiology Administration Certification Commission (RACC) - Preferred


Essential Functions

  • QUALITY/SAFETY
    Maintains quality patient care through use of clinical expertise, best practices, evidence-based literature and effective supervisorial skills.
    Identify, measure and improve quality of care and patient safety in the Imaging Department and throughout Sharp HealthCare.
    Review or coordinates the review of variance reports, errors and near misses for the department, proactively look for trends and problems, develop action plan for resolution and provide follow-up.
    Develops, reviews, updates and maintains policies and procedures and competencies related to department activities and work to provide best practice and a safe environment.
    Works proactively with Biomed, Risk Management and others to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
    Develops annual operational budget and capital equipment replacement.
    Maintains department operational budget within budgeted cost per UOS.
    Develops achievable action plans when budget variances exceed actual budgeted cost per UOS.
    Contributes to the identification of and operationally cost reduction measures or identifies revenue enhancing opportunities.
    Maintains overall department(s) productivity at greater than 98% overall.
    Develops achievable action plan when productivity exceeds actual budgeted.
    Oversees the department's billing and coding procedures and adherence to the SHC Compliance standards.
  • LEADERSHIP
    Develops, markets, and maintains highly competitive services.

    Effectively institutes change, supporting unit, level of care, and organizational goals.

    Develops corrective action plans for employees who fail to meet performance expectations.
    Provides employee staffing and scheduling guidance for the appropriate skill mix and efficient operations.
    Develops communication avenues for employees that reach all staff and shifts.
    Oversees the development and implementation of employee orientation, education and training programs to measure competencies, cross train between imaging modalities and provide career growth.
  • CUSTOMER SATISFACTION
    Establishes and maintains a customer service approval factor of 90% or greater.
    Develops employee and patient satisfaction initiatives to support goals.
    Trends patient satisfaction and implements action plans as necessary to achieve patient satisfaction.
    Communicate employee and patient satisfaction results and develop accountability action plans should goals not be met.
    Foster and grow inter-departmental team work to support patient care and safety.

    Collaborate with Marketing to promote Imaging Services.
