$33.090 - $42.697 - $52.303The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.
What You Will Do
Plans and administers treatment for patients with physical or emotional disabilities, illnesses or injuries through the use of interview, cognitive tasks, physical conditioning, social skills programs, expressive media activities etc. in accordance with physician prescription.
Required Qualifications
- Other : Successful completion of an accredited Recreation Therapy Program.
- Bachelor's Degree
- Previous professional experience in an Inpatient, Outpatient or community recreation Therapy setting.
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED
Preferred Qualifications
- Therapeutic Recreation Specialist - National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification -PREFERRED
Essential Functions
- Actively participates in departmental goals
Participates in departmental activities, such as CQI, staff meetings, and chart review.
Participates in committees and system wide activities when requested as departmental representative.
Participates in any plan to improve customer satisfaction including AIDET and SHARP EXPERIENCE - Collaboration and teamwork
Communicates patient care and departmental issues.
Accepts changes and demonstrates flexibility when asked regarding work schedules and assignments.
Completes additional assignments in a timely manner.
Offers suggestions for resolving operational issues within the department.
Provides unit specific information to students, floats, and travelers/registry personnel.
Maintains departmental cleanliness and safety.
Completes all regulatory requirements.
Takes initiative in using time effectively. - Documentation
Documentation is completed in a timely, complete, legible, concise and accurate manner.
Documentation follows Sharp HealthCare guidelines, professional guidelines, and meets third-party payer and regulatory requirements.
Maintains records pertinent to departmental operations
Completes all documentation elements as appropriate (Interdisciplinary Plan of Care, Education record, discharge plan and others). - Patient care
Performs an appropriate assessment on all patients per the department guidelines and reassesses as per policy.
Formulates a treatment plan based upon identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning; family is included in teaching as appropriate.
Utilizes a variety of treatment modalities to promote optimal patient functioning. Demonstrates the ability to select and/or modify modalities as needed.
Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors
Demonstrates knowledge and safe use of modalities, equipment and therapeutic procedures.
Coordinates and directs patient care to ensure patients' needs are met and hospital policy is followed.
Designs, implements and evaluates treatment effectiveness recommending changes to physician as needed.
