$53.220 - $68.670 - $84.121The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.
What You Will Do
Administers comprehensive outpatient neuropsychological assessments (or brief, inpatient assessments) and delivers feedback to patients and/or treatment teams. Assists with differential diagnosis, clinical recommendations, treatment planning, and behavioral plans. Participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department, and participates in Continuous Quality Improvement activities.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) Graduate program in psychology OR
- Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Graduate program in psychology (from an APA accredited University- strongly preferred)
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association
- CA Board of Psychology Licensure-REQUIRED
Preferred Qualifications
- Completed an APA-accredited internship program - STRONGLY PREFERRED
- Formal rehabilitation psychology and/or neuropsychology training and experience (postdoctoral training) - STRONGLY PREFERRED
Essential Functions
- Documentation
Documentation is completed in a timely, complete, legible, concise and accurate manner.
Documentation follows Sharp HealthCare guidelines, professional guidelines, and meets third-party payor and regulatory requirements.
Maintains records pertinent to departmental operations.
Completes all documentation elements as appropriate (Interdisciplinary Plan of Care, Education record, billing, discharge plan, and others). - Patient care
Performs an appropriate assessment on all patients as related to the therapy requested and provides and reassesses as per policy.
Assesses patient pain that interferes with optimal level of function or participation in rehabilitation; and provides intervention. (Rehab Dept Only) - Treatment plans
Designs, implements and evaluates treatment effect, recommending changes to physician as needed.
Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
Formulates a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning; family is included in teaching as appropriate.
Demonstrates knowledge and safe use of modalities, equipment and therapeutic procedures.
Coordinates and directs patient care to ensure patients' needs are met and hospital policy is followed.
Completes development plan and performance is satisfactory.
