Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$57.740 - $74.490 - $83.440


The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.



What You Will Do
Evaluates plans, directs and administers therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician. Assists patients in reaching their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. Participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department, and participates in CQI activities. Organizes the daily scheduling of patients and staffing of personnel in a cost-effective manner.

Required Qualifications

  • Other : Graduate of an approved professional school or graduate of an accredited college or university.
  • 5 Years experience in all aspects of appropriate therapy discipline.
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) - The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) AND California Speech-Language Pathologist - CA Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology & Hearing Aid Dispensers Board OR California Occupational Therapist license - CA Board of Occupational Therapy OR California Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) - CA Physical Therapy Board -REQUIRED

  • One of the above California licenses is required respective to the department Therapist is working in.

  • Clinical resource
    Is identified as a clinical expert and serves as clinical resource and contributes to professional development/education of staff members, other professionals and/or general public and provides training for staff in area(s) of expertise including the development of education, research and/or clinically oriented projects.
    Is consulted as a representative of his/her profession.
    Identifies pertinent clinical issues requiring education and participates in implementation of educational plan.
    Shares ideas therapeutic principles.
    Provides in-service/education program or training.
    Participates in student program.
    Presents/publishes clinical information.
  • Department development
    Actively participates in departmental goals and the advancement of rehab initiatives.
    Participates in departmental activities, such as CQI, staff meetings, and chart review.
    Participate in committees and system wide activities when requested as departmental representative.
    Facilitates department staffing patterns to meet financial goals.
    Meets productivity standards established by department leadership.
    Participates in any plan to improve customer satisfaction.
    Patient Satisfaction scores meet percentile ranking established by leadership.
  • Department operations
    Performs all duties as necessary to facilitate efficiency in daily departmental operations, program development, quality assessment and improvement and optimal patient care delivery in a cost effective manner and facilitates departmental productivity and staffing.
    Oversees the daily scheduling of patients in a cost-effective manner, with minimal assistance from management.
    Oversees the daily staffing of personnel in a cost-effective manner, with minimal assistance from management.
    Flexes personnel as necessary.
    Prepares and delivers employee performance appraisals in collaboration with department manager per department guidelines.
    Completes assignments such as data collection and peer review in a timely manner.
  • Documentation
    Completes all documentation to meet regulatory and financial requirements.
    Documentation is completed in a timely, complete, legible, concise and accurate manner.
    Documentation follows Sharp HealthCare guidelines, professional guidelines, and meets third-party payor and regulatory requirements.
    Maintains records pertinent to departmental operations.
    Completes all documentation elements as appropriate (Interdisciplinary Plan of Care, Education record, billing, discharge plan, and others).
  • Patient care
    Evaluates and treats patients using advanced clinical knowledge and skills in therapy techniques within the scope of care in a manner that is cost-effective and appropriate to the patient's diagnosis, age and culture.
    Designs, implements an appropriate treatment plan and evaluates treatment effect, recommending changes to physician as needed.
    Assesses patient pain that interferes with optimal level of function or participation in rehabilitation; and provides intervention.
    Performs an appropriate assessment on all patients as related to the therapy requested and provides information and feedback and reassesses as per policy.
    Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
    Formulates a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning; family is included in teaching as appropriate.
    Demonstrates knowledge and safe use of modalities, equipment and therapeutic procedures.
    Coordinates and directs patient care to ensure patients' needs are met and hospital policy is followed.
    Completes development plan and performance is satisfactory.
  • Program development
    Initiates and participates in educational and research/outcome projects
    Identifies quality improvement projects.
    Participates in referral development activities.
    Participates in financial and budgetary areas as requested by leadership
