Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$60.812 - $78.468 - $96.123


The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.

What You Will Do
Directs hospice wide performance improvement activities, quality and infection control programs. Implements and oversees the Electronic Health Record, including financial and clinical applications. Acts as the regulatory and compliance expert and is the system wide liaison with the compliance department.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Prior experience in Quality Improvement/Utilization Management
  • California Registered Nurse (RN) - CA Board of Registered Nursing.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in relevant field.
  • Prior experience in managerial or leadership position
  • Hospice experience


Other Qualification Requirements

  • Current unencumbered CA RN license.


Essential Functions

  • Leadership
    Directs hospice wide performance improvement activities, quality and infection control programs.
    Implements and oversees the Electronic Health Record, including financial and clinical applications.
    Coordinates all aspects of EHR and other software requirements, upgrades, clinician laptop deployment, billing requirements for payers, and other computer operational requirements.
  • Financial
    Participates in the development of the annual strategic plan and annual entity performance targets.
    Collaborates with hospice leadership team to assess, measure and report meaningful data such as patient/family satisfaction tools, internal and external benchmarking metrics.
    Collaborates with GH and system wide finance departments to produce required data/statistics on a monthly and/or annual basis.
    Ensures annual OSHPD and other reports are completed accurately and timely.
    Participates in budget development and agency productivity.
  • Quality
    Oversees the performance improvement plan and program for the hospice and hospice homes and is the liaison between the system, hospital and hospice.
    Chairs the Hospice Quality Council.
    Acts as a consultant on quality to hospice leadership, staff, physicians and others.
    Facilitates system wide performance improvement communication and interactions as appropriate.
    Assures the operational efficiency and quality of services.
  • Regulatory Standards
    Acts as the regulatory and compliance expert and is the system wide liaison with the compliance department.
    Stays abreast of federal regulations and participates in systems/process changes as required to achieve and maintain compliance.
    Oversees The Joint Commission readiness culture including PPR requirements.
    Coordinates QVR processing and works as a liaison to Sharp Risk Management for the identification of potential risk issues.
  • Customer Service
    Oversees agency wide clinical education and training.
    Acts as the liaison between system wide IS department and hospice for all IT requirements.
    Manages assigned operational areas and promotes staff accountability and empowerment through formal and informal mechanisms.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of statistical principals required.
  • Understanding and application of theoretical and scientific process for continuous quality improvement required.
  • Strong computer software and computer network skills required.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all quality assessment department information required.
  • Upholds California Evidence Code 1157 required.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards in related areas preferred.
