Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$42.504 - $54.844 - $67.184


The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.



What You Will Do
To provide Occupational Therapy services for pediatric patients as a member of the Sharp Rees Stealy Pediatric Rehabilitation team in conjunction with services provided by Physical Therapy and Speech Therapy.

Required Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Occupational Therapy from an accredited school.
  • 1 Year Experience in OT treatment of pediatric patients.
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED
  • California Occupational Therapist license - CA Board of Occupational Therapy -REQUIRED

Essential Functions
  • Communication
    Demonstrates the ability to communicate with patients, family members, caregivers, coworkers, physicians, Allied professionals and other staff and a clear, concise, affective, courteous and professional manner.
    Attends and participates in departmental staff meetings.
    Engages and initiates effective patient rounding with other department members.
    Demonstrates multicultural sensitivity as applicable.
    Follows establish standards and policies for electronic communication.
  • Patient care
    Must meet pediatric rehabilitation department standards of care, i.e. courteous, competent and effective therapeutic techniques for evaluation and treatment of 7 to 8 patients in an 8 hour day.
    Demonstrates professionalism in all interactions with patients and their families.
    Evaluates patients using a combination of formal and informal means as determined by patient developmental level and capabilities.
    Administers tasks and evaluates deficiencies skillfully in the areas of upper body strength, range of motion, sensory integration, postural stability, motor skills and Activities of Daily Living (ADL).
    Documentation of the evaluation is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
    Uses evaluation results to develop individual plan of care meeting all third-party payer standards.
    Uses information from chart review, Allied professionals and/or other sources in in evaluation and treatment of all patients.
    Reviews results of evaluation with physicians as required and makes appropriate recommendations for additional services or referrals.
    Participates in developmental screenings to determine appropriateness for Occupational Therapy services.
    Conducts ongoing assessment to monitor progress, modify goals, amend plan of care and maximize effective outcomes.
    Conducts therapy sessions with an emphasis on interdisciplinary cooperation and structures sessions to maximize patient’s gains across all disciplines.
    Maintains a safe therapy environment at all times for every patient. Modifies tasks as needed to ensure patient’s safety, pediatric rehabilitation employee safety and everyone’s health at all times.
    Ability to consult with other staff or with supervisor for additional input and treatment techniques.
    Ability to provide some consultation with other staff or with supervisor for additional clinical expertise.
    Discharge planning and/or referral to appropriate departments within the system in a timely manner.
  • Productivity

    Treats 7 – 9 patients per 8 hour day.
    Maintains clinical productivity at 100%.
  • Professional development
    Initiates, facilitates and encourages continuing education training and professional development through participation in department and clinical presentations, in-services and attendance at professional and continuing education seminars including webinars.
    Demonstrates some leadership ability for professional development and conduct of other Pediatric Rehabilitation Occupational Therapists.
