NoHourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):
$71.460 - $92.200 - $112.950The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.
This position will require travel to other work sites/locations.
What You Will Do
Perform advanced-level perinatal and obstetric ultrasounds evaluating fetal development on multiple and high-risk pregnancies. Ensure accurate documentation and image archiving in patient records.
Required Qualifications
- Satisfactory completion of formal training program in an AMA approved school and meets the requirements of an appropriate State and/or Federal mandated certification or equivalent.
- 1 Year sonography experience to include obstetrics.
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography -REQUIRED
Preferred Qualifications
- Perinatal imaging experience to include: fetal spine, thorax abdomen, extremities, umbilical cord and central nervous system, etc.
Other Qualification Requirements
- Fetal Echocardiography Certification (RDMS-FE) from ARDMS is required within 1 year of hire. Department to track and maintain this requirement.
Nuchal Translucency Certification from Fetal Medicine Foundation is preferred.
Essential Functions
- Patient Care
Monitors and evaluates exam quality and procedures.
Checks/completes patient name bands, physician orders, consent forms and prescriptions.
Follows department/hospital infection control guidelines.
Explains procedure to patient prior to exam.
Assures physical and psychological patient needs are met.
Initiates proper response to emergent situations.
Maintains patient medical devices (IV's catheters, tubes monitors, oxygen, etc.)
Demonstrates knowledge of patient care standards. Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and dignity throughout the examination. - Department Improvement
Supports and may facilitate departmental performance improvement initiatives.
Identifies problems and implements appropriate actions to improve departmental operations and/or quality of care.
Participation in task force or projects.
Trains new employees and students, as requested.
Provides on going educational support to work group with documentation of attendees.
Provides written recommendations for cost reduction and department improvements.
Ensures cleanliness and adequate stocking in exam and work areas.
Demonstrates flexibility and is responsive to department staffing needs.
Attends and actively participates in departmental in-services and management meetings.
Monitors completion of assigned staff duties.
Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring image quality and equipment functionality. - Safety
Submits completed safety test by scheduled deadline with 100% score.
Practices proper body mechanics 100% of the time.
Reports and corrects observed safety hazards immediately.
Reports any work related injury to self or staff immediately and completes appropriate paperwork.
Adheres to universal precautions. - Customer Service
Ensures work related discussions are professional and limited to private areas.
Consistently communicates in a positive and timely manner with all customers.
Utilizes active listening practices and acknowledges and accepts customer's feelings and perceptions as valid.
Demonstrates teamwork, cooperation and responsiveness.
When dealing with multiple priorities at the same time, assures customers that they will be attended to as soon as possible.
Customer satisfaction surveys are 90% overall. - Clinical Competency

Stays up to date with advances in perinatal imaging, technology, and professional guidelines.
Attends and completes relative training, tutorials, seminars etc. per department requirements or leadership guidance.
