Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$32.283 - $41.655 - $51.028


The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.



What You Will Do
This position will require an in-depth knowledge and understanding of multiple pharmacy and related applications. The Pharmacy Technician Informaticists will assist with managing automations and technologies; coordinating and participating in projects; providing reports and audits within their respective applications; creating technology and automation related documents; and improving the quality of customer service.

Required Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
  • Other Education pursuant to licensure.
  • 5 Years Hospital pharmacy experience.
  • 2 Years Experience with pharmacy automation and technology preferred (i.e. Pyxis, Alaris, DoseEdge, Abacus, Cerner, etc.).
  • California Pharmacy Technician License (TCH) - CA State Board of Pharmacy -REQUIRED


Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board -PREFERRED
  • Experience with Epic

Essential Functions

  • Customer service
    Manage client and department expectations through client communication. Using best judgment, communication should be appropriate, efficient and effective.
    Collaborates with colleagues, management and vendors on a regular basis ensuring partnerships with all business partners are maintained.
  • Documentation and support
    Insures application documentation is current, accurate and available. Application documentation includes, but is not limited to workflows, data diagrams, design plans, project management logs, disaster recovery plans, and reference documents.
    Develops test plans, training material, and guidelines.
    Assists with developing or updating policies and procedures.
  • Project management
    Participates in the comparisons of technologies and automations.
    Contributes to development of scope documents, project plans and timelines.
    Assists with identifying project team members, holding regular status meetings, facilitating work groups, and reporting progress to appropriate forums and leaders.
    Provides technical expertise as well as support for system design, build, test, train, and deployment of technology or automation.
    Ensures compliance with Sharp HealthCare practices, policies/procedures, and ethical standards set in the Sharp HealthCare Commitment to Principles Handbook.
  • Reports
    Performs application extracts to support organizational, department, or individual data needs.
    Complies, analyzes, and manipulates data to best provide information to the intended audience.
    Utilizes custom reports to address needs not provided through standard reporting tools.
  • Technical leadership
    Optimizes hardware and software to support operational needs.
    Maintains quality assurance, system integrity, and customer satisfaction for assigned technology or automation.
    Ensures that all changes to applications and technologies are made using existing change management methodologies to protect system performance, availability and integrity.
    Collaborates with site and corporate pharmacy, IS team, and vendor to ensure all changes work in concert with the application software and associated technologies.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Skilled use of Microsoft Office and Visio preferred.
