Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$34.170 - $44.090 - $49.370


The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.



What You Will Do
This role is responsible for coordinating major project elements including issue identification and resolution, roadmap, capability development, training, implementation, and sustainability in support of clinical quality improvement activities. The program coordinator will participate as a contributor, providing systematic support for major projects, and lead smaller, well-defined projects. This position provides support to develop and achieve metrics to demonstrate successful performance post-implementation. The coordinator will also provide administrative and logistical support for the maintenance and accountability of process improvement programs.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in science, arts, or applied science.
  • Other : Completed course work in project management.
  • 5 Years of healthcare experience in project planning, scheduling, and implementation of quality improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with giving oral and written presentations.
  • Must be experienced in multi-tasking concurrent projects and working within deadlines, establishing priorities, following through on projects, and working collaboratively with others.
  • Driver's License - CA Department of Motor Vehicles -REQUIRED


Preferred Qualifications

  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification - Various-No accreditation board -PREFERRED


Other Qualification Requirements

  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification is required within 6 months of hire. The department is responsible for tracking and maintaining this certification.
  • Position is required to travel between Sharp facilities and SCMG provider offices.
  • Utilizes reliable transportation and possesses adequate personal insurance coverage. Demonstrates clean driving record in accordance with requirements of the employer DMV pull notice program and Sharp HealthCare Driver Guidelines.


Essential Functions

  • Clinical Performance
    Under the oversight of the Manager of Performance Improvement and Practice Transformation, coordinate process improvement activities to facilitate process redesign efforts.
    Responsible for organizing activities, schedules, and resources in support of performance improvement initiatives.
    Develops and maintains a detailed project schedule.
    Performs complex process tasks per agreed upon procedures.
    Prepares project agenda, minutes and presentations.
    Designs, develops, and maintains project management charter as directed by the manager.
    Tracks project changes and produces an updated site-based schedule.
    Manages competing objectives and prioritizes accordingly while using strong business judgment.
    Anticipates and promptly identifies potential problems and takes corrective action.
  • Leadership
    Manages a number of improvement projects to facilitate successful delivery of performance improvement solutions, under the direction of the Manager of Performance Improvement and Practice Transformation.
    Maintains a high degree of independence, flexibility, initiative and commitment.
    Works effectively with diverse population both internally and externally.
    Maintains awareness of and notifies leadership of actual or potential risk situations.
    Trains the department's office coordinator.
    Supports the completion of tasks of the office coordinator, under the oversight of the Manager of Performance Improvement and Practice Transformation.
  • Program Management
    Effectively co-facilitate project meetings with the Manager of Performance Improvement and Practice Transformation in support of program goals and deliverables.
    Promotes cross-functional communication, collaboration, and performance improvement as a means of achieving cost-effective, high quality care.
    Serve as an educator, communicator, and resource to project team, medical directors and regional support teams on project dashboards and project management software.
    Organizes and adapts training materials for diverse learners.
  • Project Assistance
    Project tracking and monitoring
    Designs, implements, and maintains project reports with direction from manager.
    Completes regular and ad hoc project data collection, tracking and monitoring, summarizing the results into clear written communication for leadership review.
    Design, configure, and serve as administrator for Microsoft SharePoint environment for physician relationship/ performance management.
    Assists in the preparation of clear and concise project reports and presentations.
    Provides support for and customizations to SharePoint portals.
  • Training and Education
    Under the oversight of the Manager of Performance Improvement, coordinates, plans, and schedules physician educational and training activities.
    Coordinates training opportunities related to quality and process improvement for practices.
  • Professional Competency
    Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification is required within 6 months of hire. The department is responsible for tracking and maintaining this certification.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Is proficient with office computer applications, specifically Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Microsoft Project.
