Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$53.220 - $68.670 - $84.121


The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.



What You Will Do
The Project Manager I is part of a dynamic Project Management Office with responsibilities for managing a variety of IS application and infrastructure projects. This position ensures that project requirements are clearly defined and approved, that they provide expected solutions, are delivered on time, within budget and at acceptable levels of satisfaction by internal clients. Required Qualifications
  • 5 Years experience in a health care system preferred project management experience in a highly structured Project Management Office (PMO) may be substituted for healthcare experience.
  • PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) - Various-Employee provides certificate -REQUIRED

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience leading Information Systems projects in a healthcare environment.
  • Associate DBIA Certification - DBIA -Design-Build Professional -PREFERRED
  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification - Various-No accreditation board -PREFERRED

Other Qualification Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or related area required. Relevant experience in excess of five (5) years and/or an Associates Degree may be substituted at the discretion of the hiring manager.

Essential Functions
  • Financial management
    Prepares preliminary rough order of magnitude (ROM) budgets for feasibility planning.
    Analyzes problems, understands business requirements and develops solutions.
    Prepares capital and operational project funding requests and other necessary documentation required for the approval of the project.
    Develops, tracks and adheres to project budgets.
  • Leadership
    Ensures successful delivery of project solutions by effectively leading project team members and managing project stakeholder expectations.
    Facilitates resolution of project conflicts through effective communication and interaction.
    Manages the activities of the project team members.
  • Problem analysis and resolution
    Performs thorough problem analysis and resolution processes within Information Systems accepted framework using sound judgment, initiative, and own discretion. Seeks out required data for problem analysis and resolution.  Uses effective interviewing skills to elicit client requirements.
    Using sound knowledge of business, strategic and IS strategies, translates business requirements into solutions that meet project requirements.
    Identifies root cause and determines remedies for problems.  Identifies and communicates options and proposed solutions. Develops a comprehensive analysis or pros/cons and implications or proposed solutions.
  • Project management
    Key responsibilities include consistent and effective application of project management techniques, developing and maintaining comprehensive project management plans and schedules for all assigned projects, effective tracking of risks and development of risk mitigation strategies, and managing project scope to maintain continuous alignment with business objectives within the expected budget and timeline. Demonstrates consistent and effective application of project management techniques.
    Maintains an overall project management plan which includes project scope, business objectives, critical success factors, assumptions, exclusions, business impacts, known issues/obstacles and constraints, cost/budget, schedule, acceptance criteria, project team roles and responsibilities, risks, issues, change, communication management plans, lessons learned, approvals and project acceptance.
    Active participation in internal PMO continuous improvement initiatives. Contributes to tool development, implementation and refinement as part of ongoing PMO development efforts.
    Establishes and manages project requirements and timelines to ensure completion within target dates as agreed to with affected parties.
    Manages interactions with stakeholders to resolve conflicts, reach mutual decisions and attain project goals.
    Identifies and tracks project risks and issues. Negotiates to obtain consensus and approval on required changes.
    Tracks and conducts lessons learned opportunities for continuous improvement.
    Provides accurate and timely reporting and documentation.
    Interacts with customers and staff in a positive, professional and cooperative manner. Assures that communication between all Project Team members is timely and complete. Communicates clearly, concisely and accurately, verbally and in writing, to achieve results for the organization with and through people.
    Maintains a positive relationship with Facilities Management & Development, IS Low Voltage, IS Subject Matter Exports and their management to ensure expectations are documented and met. Must work collaboratively with senior executives, management, staff, analysts, clinicians and contractors/vendors.
    Facilitates effective meetings so that all participants are kept informed and held accountable for their tasks.
    Maintains professional growth.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Project Management: Knowledge of the following is required 1) thorough knowledge of project management principles and methodologies, 2) cost estimating, 3) management of budgets, 4) development and management of project schedules, 5) coordination of work to minimize disruption of operational business activities, 6) ability to evaluate solutions by interpreting functional requirements, 7) conflict resolution and team building, 8) ability to keep multiple stakeholders and partners informed of project progress and issue tracking, 9) skilled at conducting presentations to project team members and senior level stakeholders/sponsors, 10) ability to establish priorities and follow through on projects with minimal supervision, 11) ability to practice good time management skills and to multi-task without losing focus, 12) ability to negotiate and set priorities, 13) strong demonstrated track record in developing and leading multi-dimensional projects with successful outcomes and 14) Microsoft Project Server and Share Point.
  • Human Relations: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact effectively with various personalities. Ability to work under pressure. Ability to communicate technology to non-technology clients. Adept at keeping multiple stakeholders and partners informed of progress and issues. Effective and concise written communication skills. Ability to run effective meetings so that all participants are kept informed and held accountable for their responsibilities.
