$25.300 - $30.360 - $34.000The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.
What You Will Do
To provide administrative support to ensure the Department's success. This position works closely with patients, physicians, clinical staff, and support personnel throughout Sharp HealthCare. Key responsibilities may include reception, scheduling, phone management, and medical record coordination.
Preferred Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
- 2 Years in a clinical setting.
Essential Functions
- Documentation
Accurately verifies necessary paperwork and other documentation needed to obtain authorization for Medicare, PPO and Workers' Compensation.
Communicates professionally with appropriate health care organization.
Documents scheduling information appropriately in EHR.
Provides Rehabilitation Financial Authorization team with requested authorization information.
Meets time requirements as outlined by ordering provider.
Stays current with all health plan authorization requirements and changes.
Identify patient health insurance with corresponding plan code.
Identify all "Self Pay" patients. - Receptionist duties
Greets patient and their family members in a professional and caring manner.
Utilizes proper "scripting" with patients as deemed appropriate.
Manages phone calls professionally by answering each call promptly and identifies self to caller using department approved greeting.
Manages patient messaging portal with department approved greeting and responses.
Prioritizes job functions per established (daily) workflow.
Cares for patients and family members professionally and with respect, assisting them as needed. - Scheduling
Utilizes EHR, faxed and emailed referrals and to review orders for accuracy, schedule appointments and update demographics.
Clearly communicates appointment times, place and preps to patient, family members or healthcare providers.
Provides/scans written or electronic order and pertinent supporting documents.
Prospectively reviews schedules for accuracy, capacity, cancellations and rescheduled appointments. - Teamwork
Assists PSR team members at all Rehabilitation sites.
Demonstrates responsiveness to clinical staff members' needs in maintaining an efficient schedule and quality service to the patient.
Prioritize assignments effectively by setting work goals and objectives in consultation with others (DMS). - Time management
Assist co-workers with their tasks.
Maintain a safe and neat work environment.
Inform supervisor or lead when available for additional work assignments.
Assist in training new employees.
Completes department maintenance tasks daily. Prepares workstation at the beginning.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Medical terminology, computer skills, strong customer service skills.
- Must communicate clearly, politely, accurately and tactfully; both verbally and in writing.
