$51.880 - $66.940 - $82.000


The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.



What You Will Do
Reporting in a line capacity to the Director of Radiology, the Project Mgr - PACS is responsible for leading the implementation of a day-to-day operation for the Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS). Additionally, the Project Mgr - PACS will act as a liaison in digital imaging initiatives within the department and other departments. Receiving general direction from the Director of Imaging, the Project Mgr - PACS is responsible for participating in, overseeing, and coordinating existing new PACS and digital imaging initiatives. Responsible for communicating operating and capital budget requests for medical imaging equipment in conjunction with Information Systems and Director of Imaging.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of AMA approved school of Radiology Technology and fluoro license by State of California
  • 3 Years Radiographic technologist
  • 3 Years Supervisory or management experience
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED
  • Radiologic Technologist Fluoroscopy Permit - CA Department of Public Health -REQUIRED
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) - CA Department of Public Health -REQUIRED


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree health care discipline or information systems discipline
  • Previous experience in picture archiving and communications systems, computerized radiography, optical disc storage systems, and interfaces to CT, MRI, Ultrasound Digital Fluoroscopy, Nuclear Medicine, P.E.T., Digital Angiography, 3-D reconstructions, land IDX/IDXRAD


Essential Functions

  • Daily operations
    Assists with budget preparation and monitoring of the operating budget relative to PACS initiative. Works in cooperation with the Administrative Director of Radiology identifying present and future needs for equipment installation.
    Oversees activities of vendors in all required ancillary clinical medical imaging personnel relative to PACS operations.
    Interviews, orients, and manages all required ancillary clinical medical imaging personnel relative to PACS operations.
    Prepares reports and documents to administration on all aspects of medical imaging operations as appropriated or directed.
    Attends and participates in departmental and hospital meetings. Attends and participates in departmental and hospital meetings. Attends seminars and training sessions necessary to maintain appropriate level of professional competence.
  • Professional responsibilities
    Works closely with Director to oversee and coordinate strategic planning for medical imaging initiatives.
    Acts as liaison between Radiology and other departments related to the medical imaging initiatives and procedures and assisting with existing or new medical imaging endeavors.

    Demonstrates positive working relationship with Radiologists and other physicians.
  • Quality assurance
    Investigates, identifies and prepares proposals to solve specific operational problems within all clinical operational areas working closely with Department Managers and Lead technologists as well as involving the next level of Administration.
    Works closely with Information Systems in the development of operating standards, policies and procedures. Reviews feedback from system users and compiles and analyzes support data and recommends procedural and educational changes as appropriate.
    Works closely with Radiology Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) personnel to identify and design future needs and efficient workflow processes that include further interrogation into operations.
    Ensures all department, hospital and JCAHO guidelines are met.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • This position requires a thorough knowledge of computer sciences, techniques, requirements, and procedures in order to evaluate, monitor and supervise all PACS activities.
  • Requires in-depth knowledge of computer software and hardware as it applies to PACS.
