$55.914 - $72.147 - $88.380The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.
What You Will Do
Assists patients, staff and physicians as needed to maintain a high level of efficiency of operations and customer service while providing quality care to a designated population. Assists the Patient Care Manager with the leadership of Nursing and Patient Service Representative Staff.
Required Qualifications
- 3 Years RN experience in related clinical area
- Leadership experience
- California Registered Nurse (RN) - CA Board of Registered Nursing -REQUIRED
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED
- ACLS Certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED
Other Qualification Requirements
- PALS is required within the first 90 days of hire.
Essential Functions
- Clinical performance
Demonstrates clinical nursing skills in designated area as measured by providing direct patient care and successfully performing nursing tasks in all areas of responsibility, and by demonstrating technical expertise and competence within the established scope of practice.
Acts as a clinical resource for the designated areas of responsibility. Expert IV skills. Monitors patient during periods of both stable and unstable hemodynamic events and documents appropriately.
Has the ability to administer and monitor the infusion of vasoactive agents. Uses universal precautions and demonstrates knowledge of infection control policies and procedures.
Demonstrates strong nursing skills in the areas of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care. Demonstrates technical expertise and competency within scope of practice, and acts as a clinical resource for the designated area of responsibility.
Partners with physicians to continuously learn and expand clinical knowledge base. Demonstrates knowledge of cardiovascular pathophysiology and pharmacology.
Demonstrates ability to recognize 12-lead EKG abnormalities. Performs patient teaching for a variety of ambulatory diagnoses. - Coding and compliance
Facilitates the implementation of correct coding standards by clinical providers as established by SHC Corporate Compliance in accordance to the CMS/NHIC requirements.
Works TES Edits as necessary and provide training to staff and providers to improve accurate coding.
Responsible for working TES edits reports in conjunction with physician involvement. Makes recommendations and provides necessary training to eliminate or reduce TES edits.
Prints and distributes UC TES work files. Attends TES user group meetings as directed. - Collaboration and communication
Works with other departments to improve relationships and enhance teamwork and communication across department lines
Works with the UC Leadership team to continually improve patient satisfaction scores. - Department operations
Ensures appropriate staffing levels-flex up down
Monitors patient flow and completion of daily tasks in the department to ensure quality and service standards
Maintains cost efficiency to achieve budget results in regards to supply orders, staffing and equipment
Coordinates QA program-tracks and trends compliance
Provides education to staff about quality and service standards
Maintains a safe work environment - Leadership
Assists with and maintains UC schedules-monitors and updates schedule changes and tracks overtime and time off requests
Collects, reviews for accuracy and prepares for time card processing
Participates in peer review process for evaluations
Prepares, distributes, and collects pre-evaluation paperwork
Assists Patient Care Manager with evaluations.
Rounds on staff, provides coaching at the verbal level
When Lead is on the floor providing direct patient care will function as the Charge Nurse.
Helps in effective management of assigned area so that established teamwork, nursing care, customer service, and safety standards are maintained using cost effective measures
Covers for manager if manager is not available, takes part in the weekend call rotation for all five sites.
Actively participates in patient satisfaction initiatives, including data collection, patient and employee rounding, and reporting out to supervisor
Performs other functions as directed by supervisor or manager
Participates in interviewing potential job applicants - Staff development
Serves as a mentor for new staff
Works with UC Nurse Educator to monitor and implement training for new staff
Oversees orientation for new employees
Serves as on going super user resource/trainer for EHR product
Provides training to staff in coding and compliance and other areas
