Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$24.750 - $30.860 - $36.970


The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.



What You Will Do
The Administrative Equipment Technician will perform administrative functions including organizing and managing daily/weekly/monthly calendar, coordinating meetings and transcribing meeting minutes, maintaining employee files, tracking and maintaining employee requirements, generating creative documents and generating reports for a variety of activities including education and research. Communicates professionally with all customers (patients, staff, managers, etc.) and across departments to complete duties. The Administrative Equipment Technician will also edit and proof documents, coordinate department newsletters, prepare expense reports, submit for reimbursement and request for ordering and managing supplies.

Required Qualifications
  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED

  • Experience in a healthcare setting.

Essential Functions
  • Communication
    Schedule/book interviews and staff meetings including related resources (AV, food, etc.) and confirms participants.
    Prepare agenda and attachments as well as attend and take meeting minutes.
    Assures accurate correspondence, communication, and coordination between Manager and staff which may include reviewing and editing material as requested.
    Researches and gathers data from various sources and generates special projects/reports/summaries. Report generation may involve analyzing statistics and preparing spreadsheets, databases or other documents.
    Prioritizes mail (including electronic mail), checks deadlines and independently initiates responses/action items or refers appropriately.
    Coordinates office moves, space modifications, computer access as assigned.
  • Department efficiency and effectiveness
    Navigates the Sharp Intranet site.
    Initiates establishment and maintenance of record keeping systems to ensure efficient retrieval of documents.
    Orders supplies, forms, equipment, maintains stock per guidelines in a fiscally responsible manner.
    Completes requisitions and obtains necessary authorizations.
    Manages and operates equipment safety and accurately including obtaining supplies, troubleshooting and calling for maintenance. (e.g. fax, copier, printer, laptop, proxima).
    Resource person within department and to other secretarial/administrative staff and the leadership team.
    Manages department resources (e.g. keys, signage, badges, and phones, parking permits, other) per guidelines and as assigned.
  • Equipment
    Maintains appropriate equipment records.
    Follows up on all patient care related equipment issues.
    Checks, cleans, inventories and maintains department equipment daily.
    Assists in maintaining cleanliness of the unit adhering to all State and Federal Rules and Regulations and Policies and Procedures.
    Works with the unit management team to facilitate ongoing development of the patient supply/equipment charging system.
    Completes charge audits on a consistent, ongoing basis ensuring accurate charges are entered on all patients.
    In collaboration with unit management team develops and implements action plans to address specific equipment issues.
    Works with appropriate departments to establish par levels of stock and process orders/invoices as appropriate.
    Appropriately updates unit management team with information related to the availability of new purchases.
  • Supply management
    Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and checked periodically for appropriate function.
    Ensure compliance with Federal and State guidelines, regulations and Joint Commission standards.
    Responsible for the technical planning, organization and the maintenance of supplies and inventory.
    Repair and inspection of equipment and changes including sending malfunctioning equipment for repair, tracks progress, and assures timely return, communicating issues and concerns to unit manager as appropriate.
    Documents inventory/equipment/materials variances, and tracks the acquisition of budgeted non-capital equipment in collaboration with the unit manager.
    Assists nursing staff in implementing strategies related to availability/non-availability of equipment, supplies, and instruments.
    Ensures that supplies/disposable items are ordered in a timely manner, maintaining appropriate stocks to provide for quality patient care while working within budgetary constraints.
    Assures optimal maintenance and cleaning of equipment in accordance with Infection Control standards.
    Collaborates with administration in the process of product evaluation.
    Facilitates the annual inventory for the unit providing for accurate and complete fiscal year-end dates within designated time frames.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Requires advanced knowledge with computers and Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, Adobe).
