$33.090 - $42.700 - $52.310The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. What You Will Do
To provide campus level support/administration for Surgical Services Information Systems. Coordinates the 24 hour operational activity of the Operating Room (OR) computer system. Functions as a knowledgeable practitioner of systems within the operating rooms. Serves as a consultant, educator, and evaluator to improve system services in the department. Develops and delivers reports, data for operations, decision making.
Required Qualifications
- Systems communication in a hospital/surgical setting
- 2 Years Experience in the Perioperative setting an OR system role in a multispecialityOr
- 2 Years Personal computer experience with Microsoft products and a minimum one year experience with Perioperative software
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Administration, business, computer sciences or health related field
Essential Functions
- Application support
Reviews and authorizes all changes, deletions, and/or corrections to be made within the system.
Performs all changes, deletions, and/or corrections to be made within the system.
Documents and maintains IS system procedures.
Remains up to date on system version changes, patches, upgrades software/hardware as needed
Adds/Deletes users, controls authorization to users
Assure privacy of system and patient information is maintained. - Collaboration
Develops activities to assure dissemination of information/knowledge to appropriate individuals.
Identifies and directly confronts issues that affect quality service.
Consults with managers, clinical leads, charge nurses, and staff in making recommendations for revisions and/or development of standards related to the OR information system.
Works collaboratively with organization's Information Systems department and other computer support services to assure optimum computer support to all Sharp surgical facilities.
Identifies interdepartmental and intradepartmental problems related to the Perioperative information system.
Develops plan to resolve issues; implements and evaluates plan with appropriate supervision.
Assist with employee training and development of training tools - Computer system management
Ensures that environment and equipment maintenance are performed.
Ensures that adequate supplies and appropriate equipment are available.
Assures that data entered is accurate and complete.
Ensures backup functions are performed as per criteria - Report management
Coordinates and reviews all efforts regarding the quality and accuracy of requested documentation.
Investigates and corrects any issues regarding the quality and accuracy of requested documentation.
Prepares and delivers routine reports to finance, administration, nursing
develops and delivers ad hoc reports, mines data for information to improve patient care, respond to identified needs, support decisions, improve efficiency, support quality and meet regulatory reporting requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficiency in teaching, interpersonal relations and leadership skills as they relate to physicians, staff and management Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage projects/tasks and deliver on time results.
- Demonstrated ability to use software/reporting packages to obtain results (database management, Crystal reporting, MS Office).
- Possesses knowledge of computer terminology and skills. Possesses critical thinking and problem solving ability.
- Familiar with medical terminology, surgical procedure, and equipment nomenclature.
- Ability to work effectively with management, staff, physicians and hardware/software vendors.
- Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and accurately both orally and in writing.
- Ability to prioritize work, develop and prepare both routine and ad hoc reports to support departmental functions, plans and decision making.
