Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$22.275 - $26.455 - $31.747


The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.



What You Will Do
To provide administrative support to ensure the Department's success. This position works closely with patients, physicians, clinical staff, and support personnel throughout Sharp HealthCare. Key responsibilities may include reception, scheduling, phone management, and medical record coordination.

Required Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent


Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 Years In an imaging setting.


Essential Functions

  • Communication and teamwork
    Assists at other radiology sites to maintain adequate staffing.
    Demonstrates responsiveness to physician's needs in maintaining an efficient schedule and quality service to the patient.
    Prioritize assignments effectively by setting work goals and objectives in consultation with others;
  • Customer service
    Responds to all phone calls within 3 rings.
    Answers with name and department.
    Asks before placing caller on hold and waits for response.
    Checks back with caller every 2-3 minutes and offers alternatives.
    Takes complete messages that are formatted neatly, concisely, spelled correctly, and written using correct medical terminology.
    Announces calls to connecting party when transferring a call. Introduces caller and problem, and refers telephone calls appropriately.
    Returns phone messages according to established guidelines, based on message documentation.
  • IDXRAD and picture archive system and synapse
    Appropriately loans or transfers folders within or out of the department.
    Follows Guidelines for subpoena requests.
    Receives, logs in and returns outside films.
    Utilizes proper guidelines for digitizing previous studies.
    Utilizes Synapse to Access, Print or burn CD's of patients films.
    Accurately files folders into appropriate location.
    Utilizes correct downtime procedures.
    Verifies correct fax number prior to faxing.
    Requests comparison films when appropriate.
    Prospectively reviews schedules for accuracy.
    Assesses urgency of films for reading and processes them accordingly, and directs films to proper reading stations.
    Accurately maintains mammo/rollo viewer.
  • Receptionist duties
    Greets patient and their family members in a professional and caring manner.
    Patient Rounding in Waiting area to keep patients informed of wait times.
    Prioritizes job functions as necessary.
    Within two business days, responds to/resolves customer-related issues, or refers case to more senior level management within 6 to 8 hours.
    Utilizes proper "scripting" with patients as deemed appropriate
    Maintains a clean and orderly waiting area.
    Assesses procedure(s) to be performed and directs patient appropriately.
    Accurately registers and/or schedules radiographic procedures in IDXrad.
    Provides customer with necessary information and exam preparation materials.
    Manages flow of patient records by verifying demographics, MPI Registration and arriving the patient in IDX-RAD.
    Verifies co-pay and directs patient to BSR for payment collections.
  • Time management
    Assist co-workers with their tasks.
    Maintain a safe and neat work environment.
    Inform supervisor or lead when available for additional work assignments.
    Assist in training new employees.
    Prepares workstation at the beginning of shift, cleans up area at the end of shift.
    Completes department maintenance tasks daily.
    Communicates status of workstation to work partner at the end of shift.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Medical Terminology, Computer Skills, and Strong Customer Service Skills.
  • Ability to file material in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, politely, accurately and tactfully; both orally and in writing.
