Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$24.750 - $30.860 - $36.970

What You Will Do
Performs technical service including, but not limited, to 12-lead electrocardiograms, rhythm strips and code blue monitoring. Assists in preparation, processing and distribution of noninvasive test results. Data entry into computer base system with the Cardiology Department. Assists in preparation and monitoring of patients for cardiology stress testing.

Required Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1 Year Experience in ECG
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED


Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced ECG course certificate.


Essential Functions

  • Department competency
    Attends in-services or meetings related to job description
    Maintains adequate supplies for the treadmill room
    Assists in ordering supplies and being cost-effective
  • ECG skills
    Performs and processes 12-lead electrocardiograms for physician confirmation using the ECG management system.
    Test performed with minimum baseline artifact.
    Leads placed with 100% accuracy.
    Patient information entered into computer with 100% accuracy.
    Ability to perform a minimum of twenty tests per eight-hour shift.
    ECG rhythm strips.
    Holter monitor application.
    Signal average ECG's.
    Edit and distribute 12-lead electrocardiograms after confirmation by physician using the ECG management system.
    Demonstrate typing skills proficiency by: Using a keyboard, required to type proficiently and accurately; have the ability to type a minimum of 30 words per minute with 0-2 errors; have the ability to proof work.
  • Patient education
    Provides patients with information on the diagnostic test they are undergoing.
    Identifies any needs patients may have and make sure they are addressed, or relay the concerns to physicians or management.
  • Quality
    Performs additional technical procedures as necessary, including, but not limited, to the following: 1.) Maintains quality patient outcomes throughout diagnostic testing; 2.) Notifies physician immediately of any arrhythmias or patients becoming symptomatic following proper emergency protocols.
  • Treadmill skills
    Competent with Bruce protocol and new MUSE system.
    Stress echoes.
    Adenosine protocol and advanced knowledge of significant arrhythmias.
    Equipment maintenance troubleshooting skills.
    Ensures proper input for Adenosine in Epic for physician authorization and billing.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of cardiac procedures.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
  • Computer skills to include: IDX, Epic and MUSE.
  • The ability to type 30 words per minute with 0-2 errors.
