$76.927 - $99.261 - $121.595The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.
What You Will Do
The Director Human Resources-Regional will serve as the key strategic partner across multiple entities for their assigned region, leading HR Business Partners (HRBPs) to collaborate and engage with their executives, leaders, and HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) to support Sharp HealthCare's Best Place to Work vision. This regionally-based position includes strategic and operational oversight of the HR function in collaboration with the VP of Talent Management to ensure alignment across entities. This role involves developing and implementing HR strategies that align with Sharp HealthCare's business and workforce objectives in line with system and regional HR priorities. The strategic oversight includes leadership execution of people strategy initiatives such as but not limited to, development of talent plans, succession planning, diversity, equity and inclusion, and belonging, leader and staff development, engagement and retention strategies and implementing change management strategies. Champions and implements in collaboration with the HRBPs, leadership and business units, data driven strategies using business acumen to solve and innovate for workforce business needs. This position provides leadership for driving operational efficiency and service excellence in conjunction, coordination, and collaboration with COE programs and initiatives to support Sharp's culture to enhance and address team members' needs to provide the best service to patients and community members.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 6 Years progressive Human Resources management experience.

- Master's Degree
- Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) - HR Certification Institute -PREFERRED
- SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) - Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) -PREFERRED
- California Certification in Human Resources (PHR-CA/SPHR-CA) - HR Certification Institute -PREFERRED
Essential Functions
- Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the mission, vision, and values of Sharp HealthCare in leadership behaviors, practices, and decisions. Models' effective leadership skills to influence and drive change as a People Champion.
- Provides leadership direction, communication, oversight, and accountability for entity execution of identified strategies under Sharp’s People Pillar through collaborative partnership with direct reports, HR COE’s, executives and leadership.
- Demonstrates and leads the entity/entities in change management leadership and performance excellence through identified quality, engagement, growth, and workforce initiatives. Champions continuous quality improvement, providing leadership and consultation through evolving workforce strategic and operational priorities.
- Ensures that processes, policies, programs, and strategies are in alignment with both best place to work vision with line of sight to Sharp HealthCare’s overall mission and vision.
- Broad understanding of entity/entities business unit strategies and initiatives to identify gaps, critical business needs, or enhancements to leverage workforce strategic initiatives in partnership with entity leadership and HR business partners.
- Uses data analytics and reporting to advise and guide stakeholders for effective and insightful decision-making. Analyzes HR data in partnership with executive leadership and HR team to identify entity meaningful trends and distill complex information into key insights and innovative solutions.
- Responsible and accountable for entity HR team performance using identified and agreed upon metrics and deliverable deadlines for strategic initiative implementation and ongoing program efforts to demonstrate both completion of identified goals and ROI.
- In partnership with HR Business Partners, and leadership, develops entity committees/councils for engagement and collaboration of workforce initiatives and programs. Uses these committees/councils as the vehicle to create, communicate, engage, educate the workforce.
- Partners and works collaboratively with human resources colleagues and COE’s to ensure consistency and share best practices of entity implementation and delivery of workforce strategies and programs.
- Utilizes established Sharp tools such as but not limited to High Reliability Organization (HRO) tools, employee engagement data, workforce dashboard(s), black belt resources, COE expertise, to identify areas for improvement and change implementation, address enhancements and recommendations to entity workforce initiatives, programs, and processes.
- Proactively identifies and mitigates risk through ensuring entity alignment with people strategies and applicable labor laws. Stays current, seeks best and innovative approaches, recommends, and identifies latest trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and innovative technologies in human resources, talent management, training, employment, and labor law.
- Responsible for adherence to the department budget and accounts for variances within the department.
Ensures HR practices, policies, programs are administered and reviewed and aligned for fiscal responsibility within the HR division.
