$24.250 - $28.040 - $31.820The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. What You Will Do
Assist with completing Imaging Center procedures including transportation and monitoring patients to and from, as well as during Imaging Center procedures.
Required Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 Year Patient care experience
Essential Functions
- Communication
Communicates pertinent system issues to the Lead/Supervisor on a timely basis.
Communicate equipment, employee, supply, adverse incidents, and workman's compensation issues to Lead/Supervisor in an appropriate time frame.
Communicate openly and positively any changes to all departmental employees.
Ensure employee/patient confidentiality is restricted to private area(s) and appropriate person(s).
All communication to employees and members of management should be conveyed in a positive and effective manner.
Uses special needs resources (translation, phone services) to communicate with customers that speak another language or have hearing/speech disorders.
Effectively communicate patient status to nursing and Radiology staff so condition and location is known to both areas. - Department efficiency and effectiveness
Cross cover in other areas of the department as work volume and staffing fluctuations occur.
Assists with training, orientation and upholding policies and procedure to new employee or those new to the area.
Greet and escort patients in and out of Radiology department with appropriate dress.
Assist in transferring patients prior to and following procedures.
Chaperone patients during procedures as needed.
Demonstrates ability to make timely, accurate and safe decisions regarding patients. Even if those decisions are not covered by written or verbal instructions.
Actively sets priorities, adjusting to unscheduled situations.
Complete tasks and assigned duties in a timely manner as directed by Lead/Supervisor.
Treats customers and co-workers with dignity and respect.
Cooperates with initiatives to improve work processes. - Financial accountability
Supports organizational cost containment.
Takes initiative in utilizing time effectively and appropriately. - PACS and SYNAPSE
Demonstrate general knowledge of how to utilize PACS/SYNAPSE and RIS.
Ability to print images and make duplicates of films and/or digital images.
Ability to scan documents into PACS/SYNAPSE.
Accurately follows downtime procedures.
Able to perform required RIS functions to support patient, physician, technologists, and patients. - Patient care
Introduce self and purpose to patient upon first interaction with patient (i.e. calling patient from waiting area).
Verifies patient identification and pregnancy status through the use of double identifiers (name and DOB) - 5 Keys to Success #1.
Ensures proper procedure on proper patient.
Responsible for efficient and timely patient flow management.
Demonstrates knowledge of universal precautions and general understanding of sterile technique principles.
Effectively utilize free time between patient care completing and any all assigned duties.
Interacts and communicates in a manner to reflect an understanding of the patient's age, culture, state of health, level of comprehension.
Apply techniques to improve patient care by rounding with patients and family. - Patient safety
Maintains safe work environment.
Cooperatively troubleshoots potential and actual problems both internal and external to the department.
Provide appropriate mode of transportation for patient's physical limitations and imaging procedure requirements.
Understands and applies appropriate MRI Safety precautions and Radiation Safety principles.
Ensure a safe environment for patients with special needs to be monitored.
Observes the patient, reports any changes in status, and initiates appropriate action to ensure a positive outcome. Follows patient's Advanced Directive. - Quality control
Perform QC procedures as assigned by department.
