Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$33.090 - $42.700 - $52.310


The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.



What You Will Do
This position is responsible for assisting the Marketing & Communications management in the planning and implementation of integrated marketing and communications initiatives in support of the organization's business and marketing goals. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 1) production of marketing collateral for entity and service lines; 2) development and implementation of marketing and communications campaigns for entity and service lines; 3) implementation of media relations; 4) implementation of special events, community events and other outreach activities for the hospital; 5) writing for various internal and external communications vehicles, including social media, press materials, newsletters, employee publications, and digital media; 6) project tracking and coordination; 7) video production, which may include filming, editing and distribution.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree With focus in marketing, communications, public relations, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 Years experience in marketing communications within an agency and/or large regional organization encompassing multiple communications disciplines, including media relations.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous health care experience.
  • Experience with photo and video editing software.


Essential Functions

  • Implements media relations
    Works with members of the media on stories and live broadcasts.
    Oversees obtaining patient and employee consent forms to ensure patient privacy rights and adherence to HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability) laws.
    Writes press releases and media advisories.
    Pitches story ideas to media outlets.
    Facilitates interviews with media and entity spokespersons, including clinicians, entity leaders, affiliated physicians and patients.
    Shares responsibility with system PR team members in assuming media on-call duties as needed.
    Helps ensure consistent, high-quality media releases and media interactions.
    Participates in video production projects. Dependent upon skill set, may be responsible for coordinating shoots with Multimedia team, writing and editing scripts, filming and editing content, and coordinate distribution of video content.
  • Implements special events, community seminars and other outreach activities.
    Coordinates marketing-led seminars, including speaker, scheduling, script, promotion, and other event logistics. May also act as emcee.
    Assists with various entity special events including but not limited to employee and physician recognition events.
    Depending on event, may be responsible for event logistics and promotion.
    On occasion, coordinate community event/conference participation, staffing and promotion. Some events may be held on weekday evenings or weekends.
  • Marketing responsibilities
    Works with management to develop and implement marketing and communications campaigns for entity and service lines:
    Partners with entity management and team members to develop and implement marketing campaigns to increase awareness and drive utilization of service lines.
    In collaboration with entity management, meets with service line lead to discuss need, project scope and develop content.
    Partners with entity management and System to provide advertising, CRM, social media, and PR recommendations based on campaign goals and budget.
    Develops creative brief, budget and timeline for marketing initiatives.
    For marketing collateral projects, collaborates with System Advertising and Creative Services to write content, provide design direction, route layout for input/approval and produce materials. Works with outside partners/vendors as needed.
    Plans and implement community seminars in support of service lines, including event registration, speakers, set up, presentations, and evaluations.
  • Tracks projects and deadlines
    Manages timelines for projects as assigned.
    Establishes and coordinates budgets in collaboration with management. Reconciles invoices as necessary.
    Traffics jobs through Creative Services and production.
    Establishes editorial calendars and timelines.
  • Writes for various internal and external communication vehicles
    Writes and edits copy for internal communications channels including SharpNet, employee publications and site Communications.
    Writes and edits copy for external communications channels, including Sharp Health News (Sharp’s online newsroom), social media, press materials, e-newsletters and sharp.com website.
    Collaborates with 82-Sharp team to provide information on community classes for online registration.
    Collaborates with management in preparation of PowerPoint presentations.
    Takes photographs of employees, physicians and volunteers for internal and external communications purposes.
  • Social Media Responsibilities
    Develops ideas for and maintains calendar of social media posts for entity Facebook pages.
    Works with Digital Marketing to share posts on system social media accounts.
    Collaborates with Sharp Digital Marketing on content for other social media platforms, including Twitter and Instagram.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet Explorer).
