Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$66.292 - $85.537 - $104.783


The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.



What You Will Do
Performs procedures, setups, simulations, and prescribed treatments under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist, Physicist, or Lead Radiation Therapist to provide the highest level of care to Radiation Oncology patients.

Required Qualifications
  • Certified Radiation Therapy (T)(ARRT) - ARRT -REQUIRED
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) - CA Department of Public Health -REQUIRED

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1 Year experience as a Certified Radiation Therapist in a physician's office or hospital setting.

Other Qualification Requirements
  • Satisfactory completion of formal training program in a JRCERT/CHEA approved school and meets the requirements of an appropriate State and/or Federal mandated certification or equivalent. - Required

Essential Functions
  • Demonstrates initiative and teamwork
    Follows instructions and works with minimal supervision; complies with work schedules and deadlines. Consistently exerts positive energy to identify, recommend, and participate in problem resolution, in an objective manner.
  • Department improvement
    Participates in a pro-active manner, in both identifying concerns and offering solutions. Including the following meetings: Body Mechanics, Disaster Procedures, Fire, Safety, Hazardous Materials, and Infection Control.
  • General support
    Initiate supplies necessary for treatments.
    Assist in maintenance of inventory in clinical area.
    Assist in continuous quality improvement.
    Report equipment failure to supervisor.
    Maintains cleanliness.
    Accurately charges billing for procedures.
  • Meeting attendance
    Demonstrates an orderly and logical approach to resource utilization.
    Consistently utilizes time management skills to improve efficiency/ effectiveness ratio.
    Recognizes external factors and positively adjusts to change. Readily and willing adjusts to changes in the work environment.
  • Patient care
    Interprets and performs prescribed treatment plan.
    Maintains pre-treatment and treatment records: for simple dose-calculations as required.
    Operates simulator/mold and treatment equipment.
    Assist in preparation of weekly chart rounds.
    Maintains daily treatment schedules.
    Fabricates immobilization/positioning and treatment devices, i.e.molds Vaclocs, and masks.
    Assist MD with treatment simulation and use of immobilization molds.
    Photographs patients for documentation purposes.
    Physician's orders are correctly interpreted 90-95% of the time.
    Reviewed annually for proficiency in treating adult and geriatric cancer patients.
    Ability to provide simple dose calculations for emergency setups.
  • Patient satisfaction
    Patient satisfaction achieves oncology service-wide target. There is evidence of patient satisfaction through the following: verbal comments from patients themselves or through their physician, written feedback from patient evaluation cards, comments and scoring on AIDET surveys and Press- Ganey results.

  • Knowledge of radiation therapy.
  • Ability to keep neat, accurate records.
  • Ability to follow physician's orders.
  • Effective interpersonal and patient contact skills.
