$48.140 - $62.110 - $76.080The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.
What You Will Do
The Senior Financial Analyst and Accountant position is responsible for supporting the financial operations for Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group; including analysis of provider compensation and productivity, collecting and submitting provider data to national benchmark surveys. Preparing accurate and timely financial statements and account reconciliations, assist with the preparation of annual federal and state tax returns, audits and government reporting, reporting of provider metrics. Calculation of annual SRSMG incentives, preparing monthly payroll reports, and ad hoc reporting and projects as assigned. The Senior Financial Analyst and Accountant needs to be very detail oriented, have strong skills in Excel, and be a strong communicator. This position reports to the Administrator of Payroll and Provider Compensation and works closely with SRSMG CFO, President, and CMO.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 3 Years Experience in accounting or finance, preferably within the healthcare industry
- 3 Years other general ledger experience.
- Accounting and financial reporting experience.
- Experience presenting to leadership and supporting leadership with financial operations.
- Experience with GE/IDX or EPIC EMR, or other EMR/PM systems.
- Experience with Cognos or other data warehouse house reporting system.
- Experience with Monarch.
- Advanced Excel experience and experience with other Microsoft Office products.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - CA Board of Accountancy - PREFERRED
Essential Functions
- Provider Compensation and Productivity Analysis
Prepare and analyze accurate and timely Recruitment Packets for SRSMG Board of Directors and Council of Department Chairs to support the evaluation existing providers and adding new providers.
Collect accurate and complete provider compensation and productivity data for submission to national benchmark surveys.
Coordinates accurate and timely SRSMG compensation and productivity comparisons to benchmark reports, physician growth goal reports, annual provider FTE and incentive calculations.
Assist with the management of the Medical Group's 3 defined contribution pension plans and 1 defined benefit pension plan, in collaboration with the plans' external service providers.
Support accurate preparation of provider payroll. - Account Analysis, Reconciliation and Financial Accountability
Prepare account analyses and reconciliations for balance sheet and expense accounts monthly, including adequate supporting documentation.
Prepare monthly journal entries necessary to account for all financial transactions with appropriate supporting documentation.
Prepare accurate and complete financial statements that are presented monthly at SRSMG Board of Directors meeting, including concise and meaningful supporting analyses.
Assist with preparation of annual federal and state tax returns.
Assist with tax provision, tax research and other tax matters as requested.
Ensure SRSMG's compliance with other state or federal regulatory filing requirements. - Leadership
Be available as a resource to investigate and research issues or questions brought to Finance's attention by physicians or management regarding provider compensation and productivity.
Monitor SRSMG financial and productivity performance and assisting physicians and managers in achieving financial goals.
Establish and maintain active relationships with customers by periodically assessing needs and satisfaction and by providing quality customer services. - Special Projects
Coordinate the completion of special projects and ad hoc analysis as assigned. Coordinate preparation and presentation of education for providers and management staff. Assist in developing and revising policies and procedures as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong analytical skills and ability to handle large data sets.
- Detail oriented with experience with accuracy-sensitive reporting.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written, with peers, leadership and physicians within the medical group. Including ability to communicate financial concepts to non-financial personnel.
