Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$56.580 - $70.170 - $83.760


The stated pay scale reflects the range as defined by the collective bargaining agreement between Sharp HealthCare and Sharp Professional Nurses Network, United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Health Care Professionals, NUHHCE, AFSME, AFL-CIO.  Placement within the range is based on years of RN experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate of a U.S. state-approved and accredited nursing program.

  • Must have a current unencumbered California RN license by the program start date.

  • Must have graduated no more than 18 months prior to the start date of the Nurse Residency program

  • Graduation date no earlier than September 2023

  • Must have less than 12 months of RN work experience on the start date of the Nurse Residency Program.

  • Must have a current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification for a healthcare provider by program start date.

  • Note: If required by the specific unit, additional certifications including AHA ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, NRP, or others, must be completed by the program start date.

Purpose of Unit: Cares for patients with cancer but can also care for a wide variety of cardiac patients who need continuous cardiac monitoring

Sharp Chula Vista Emergency Department

Purpose of Unit: Provides care for pediatrics to geriatrics in emergent or urgent situations

Top 5 Diagnoses: PNA, DM, UTI, different CA dx, sepsis, and other wide range of diagnoses

Sharp Grossmont Hospital GI/GU Telemetry/PCU 3E

Additional Preferred Qualifications: PCCN

Purpose of Unit: Specializes in providing care for a variety of medical and surgical patients, including but not limited to gastrointestinal and urinary patient populations

Top 5 Diagnoses: Abdominal pain, post-surgical/post-procedural, liver related disease processes, UTI, sepsis

Sharp Grossmont Hospital Pulmonary/CHF Telemetry/PCU 4E

Additional Preferred Qualifications: PCCN

Purpose of Unit: Provides care for telemetry patients, primarily specializing in pulmonary failure, congestive heart failure, and renal failure

Purpose of Unit: Sharp Grossmont is the only Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center in East County and in the Sharp Health System. This unit is the designated neuro/stroke progressive care unit

Purpose of Unit: Treats cardiac patients with a variety of cardiac conditions who need continuous cardiac monitoring

Purpose of Unit: Short stay observation unit (except stroke or neuro) with an emphasis on providing a progressive level of care for patients with medical and surgical conditions

Purpose of Unit: To provide comprehensive surgical and post-anesthesia care to obstetric and gynecologic patients.

Top 5 Diagnoses:  Intrauterine pregnancy, labor dystocia requiring cesarean, uterine fibroids, pelvic organ prolapse, gynecologic cancer

Purpose of Unit: Medical Neuroscience Unit (MSNU) provides care for stroke/TIA and a range of other neurological disorders/diagnoses as well as mixed acuity medical-surgical patients

Purpose of Unit: Provides care for rule-out diagnoses and post-procedure recovery

Top 5 Diagnoses: Chest pain, arrythmias, syncope, SOB, trauma, various surgical procedures including mastectomy and thyroidectomy

Sharp Memorial Hospital Trauma/Neurology/Head & Neck PCU 4W

Additional Preferred Qualifications: PCCN, TNCC

Purpose of Unit: Provides specialized care for patients with traumatic injuries, craniotomies, spinal surgeries, and patients recovering from head and neck surgeries. Provides care for both surgical and medical patients requiring progressive level of care

Purpose of Unit: Provides exceptionally specialized nursing care to patients with kidney or heart transplants. This unit focuses on providing patient and family centered quality care by promoting clinical excellence and improving quality of life

Purpose of Unit: Provides care for patients with complex cardio-pulmonary medical conditions such as heart failure, atrial fibrillation, and acute coronary syndrome that often require continuous cardiac monitoring, non-invasive mechanical ventilation, and/or ongoing cardiac infusions for stabilization
