Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$57.361 - $74.014 - $90.668


The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.



What You Will Do
Masters or doctoral prepared nurse who applies clinical expertise in evidence-based nursing practice within a specialty area and functions in the following roles: clinical expert, educator, researcher, consultant, innovator, system thinker and change agent.

Required Qualifications
  • Master's Degree Or Doctoral prepared nurse.
  • California Registered Nurse (RN) - CA Board of Registered Nursing -REQUIRED
  • ACLS Certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED

Preferred Qualifications
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association -PREFERRED

Essential Functions
  • Clinical expert
    Through support of the nursing process, applies evidenced-based practice to identified patient populations with inclusion of age/ culturally appropriate approach, evaluation of trends, innovative solutions, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
    Facilitates/provides opportunities for improving nurse sensitive outcome(s) in selected patient populations.
    Resolves educational deficits and completes needs assessments.
    Develops new area of expertise/skill acquisition applicable to role.
    Can complete departmental or organizational gap analysis for education and/or training purposes. Makes appropriate recommendations according to current community or nursing standards based on EBP.
  • Community and leadership
    Demonstrates commitment to professional growth and contribution to nursing profession and/or community.
    Creates and provides community-based education about the nursing profession/specialty area.
    Member of professional organization related to specialty.
    Oversees project management and completion timelines as directed.
    Provides feedback to T&E Supervisor for completion of annual performance evaluations on employees.
    Monitors, reviews and authorizes usage of personnel resources for project completion as directed by the T&E Supervisor.
    Performs other duties as needed at the direction of the T&E Supervisor or Director.
  • Consultation
    Directs others through expert nursing knowledge and the use of resources to achieve and/or maintain the community standard of care.
    Evaluates efficacy and safety of products, devices, and technology, make recommendations.
    Improves outcomes due to interventions with others.
    Assists with monitoring of Infection Control issues and provides education on problem or deficient areas.
  • Educator
    Provides framework for assigned clinical staff competency validation and provides opportunities for professional growth.
    Provides framework for patient/family education in selected patient populations.
    Develops and maintains department specific nursing competency program.
    Educates staff on new or advanced application of skills.
    Creates and maintains and updates annual calendar of upcoming classes and in-servicing.
  • Research and evidence-based practice
    Provides for current and evidenced based practice by utilizing, critiquing, and/or sharing applicable research.
    Develops, implements, and evaluates evidence based practice framework.
    Conducts or provides education, recommendations, or gap analysis based on clinically based, relevant research.
    Improves outcomes through Performance Improvement activities.
    Evaluates efficacy and safety of products, devices, and technology.
