$41.432 - $53.460 - $65.489The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.
What You Will Do
To support implementation and ongoing operation of Patient Financial Services (PFS) business and departmental automated information systems.
Required Qualifications
- 4 Years experience in hospital/clinic system, preferable business services.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 Years experience in systems analysis or data processing activities.
Other Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in an applicable field such as Business Administration, Information Systems, or Health Care Administration. Relevant experience in excess of three years may be substituted. - Required
Essential Functions
- Billing
Understands financial issues to assure the provision of accurate training and systems. Identifies system enhancements that assist PFS achieve department billing and cash goals. Training material and other projects are developed cost-effectively. - Customer service
Presents professional demeanor at all times in person and on telephone. Abides by all ethical and professional standards and policies of the organization and supports the Mission, Goals, and Philosophy of Sharp HealthCare. Is willing to cooperate and work on or within a team structure. Demonstrates good public relations with physicians, employees, managers, and other staff. Participates in and offers suggestions to improve service.
Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility by accepting new assignments, changes in workload, staff, and policies. Assists with the smooth implementation of new and existing procedures. Demonstrates interest in self-development. - System integration
Documents automated system features through various mediums (e.g., memos, policies and procedures, training materials, newsletters, user manuals, etc.). Maintains awareness of application and system documentation.
Analyzes department/user needs through visits with front- and back-end staff and Management. Reviews department processes and ensures attainment of optimal functionality and user satisfaction in accordance with department goals and objectives. Acts as in-house consultant for proposed and implemented systems. Coordinates and performs troubleshooting activities.
Coordinates multiple projects using appropriate prioritization, timing and creativity. Demonstrates ability to independently perform other departmental tasks not specific to automated system support. Responds to daily requests from users on system functionality or errors. - Training and education
Coordinates department, vendor and Information Systems resources in the implementation or enhancement of departmental systems within guidelines and timeframes required meeting objectives. Target date, cost and/or outcome variances are identified and approved by Management in advance.
Coordinates and/or develops, implements, and delivers training programs for internal and external customer on automated systems. Reviews need for refresher or update training at least annually and arranges or performs training as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent working knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, HCPCS, RBRVS codes, and payor specific utilization and their modification and use.
- Knowledge of Federal and State regulations as related to hospital and/or physician billing.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Ability to interact with clinical, technical, and management personnel with clear, concise communication, both written and verbal.
- Ability to plan, organize, and implement necessary changes without alienation, and use resources in an organized manner.
- Strong PC skills with standard Windows applications.
