$60.270 - $77.770 - $95.260The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.
What You Will Do
Responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of strategic technical solutions. This position provides consulting level knowledge and experience to senior leadership, combining an extraordinary level of technical, business analysis, and project management skills. Will manage departmental project initiatives, provide planning expertise and act as a mentor to other application and technical staff.
Required Qualifications
- 7 Years Experience with technology solutions (hardware installation, programming, interfaces, databases, and/or report writing).
- Ambulatory healthcare business knowledge and experience with practice management and/or electronic health records.
Preferred Qualifications
- Supervisory or managerial experience.
Other Qualification Requirements
- Appropriate industry-standard technology certifications required (Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle, CompTIA).
Essential Functions
- Consultation
Reviews, analyzes and evaluates information technology offerings then defines and recommends enterprise-wide standards.
Provides consulting quality leadership to critical projects and performs highly complex tasks.
Brings unquestioned competency to technology tasks and administrative duties required to support the computing environment in a highly available manner.
Provides direct support to leadership to evaluate and implement solutions that promote the effective and efficient use of computing resources and facilitate client workflows.
Manage strategic initiatives, provide planning expertise and act as a mentor to other application and technical staff. - Documentation and change management
Develop, evaluate, create and maintain technical solution documentation such that features and functionality are well documented and communicated.
Mentor other technical staff through review and editing of documentation.
Ensure that documentation allows for the continuation of functions by other technical staff when the assigned primary resource is unavailable.
Ensure that documentation is kept up-to-date and is readily available.
Utilize best practices for change management processes and communication so that the highest levels of system stability and reliability are maintained. - Hardware and infrastructure implementation and support
Consult proactively with physician practices to determine internet connectivity, hardware and network infrastructure requirements.
Provide leadership and consultation in practice infrastructure gap analyses and hardware purchase/upgrade requirements.
Consult with practice infrastructure support vendors during purchasing / upgrading.
Participate in software configuration and interfaces as appropriate.
Partner with data center operations personnel to ensure adequate capacity and performance standards are maintained. - Leadership
Exercise leadership role with Information Services (IS) staff - acting as an in-house consultant.
Provide direction to staff regarding work performance and business operations; mentor junior staff.
Train new IS staff in system functions and operations.
Ensure IS staff is cross-trained on multiple applications and systems, as required.
Function as a technical lead to project teams, guiding effective use of resources to deliver effective solutions.
Exercise leadership role with internal and external information services clients.
Work with leadership and staff to review existing policies, procedures, and practices and to develop best practices that take advantage of information technologies and systems.
Keep informed regarding healthcare trends and opportunities afforded by emerging technologies. - Problem resolution
Utilize effective and creative problem solving techniques within standard information systems best practices to develop quality solutions and resolve problems.
Notice abnormalities and communicate them right away.
Continuously evaluate and work with the team to improve standards.
Configure, develop, and execute test plans for technology solutions to ensure optimum system performance, stability, and reliability.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Highly proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications (specifically, Excel, Word, and Visio).
- Strong technical skills needed, including application implementation, analysis, coding, testing, project management, and project life cycle methodologies.
- Knowledge of and experience with healthcare information systems (either business or clinical or both).
- Has in depth knowledge of a majority of the technology solutions currently installed or planned for installation.
- Develops and maintains an extraordinarily high level of skill in information technologies.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills; strong math skills.
- Ability to lead work teams consisting of cross-department resources.
- Ability to be flexible and work in a rapidly and constantly changing environment.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Ability to serve as a liaison between internal and external clients, vendors, and Health System Executives.
- Understanding of quality and performance improvement initiatives (Lean/Six Sigma).
