Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$33.090 - $42.700 - $52.310


The stated pay scale reflects the range as defined by the collective bargaining agreement between Sharp HealthCare and Sharp Professional Nurses Network, United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Health Care Professionals, NUHHCE, AFSME, AFL-CIO.  Placement within the range is based on years of RN experience.


What You Will Do
To support the implementation and ongoing operation of Sharp Rees-Stealy Business Office, including the training of users. Perform routine quality audits to ensure Business Service Representatives (BSRs) follow best practice guidelines. Analyze quality audit trends, identify root causes, and develops appropriate education/training for business office personnel and customers.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience is required in an applicable field, such as Information Systems, Business Administration, or Healthcare Administration.
  • 4 Years experience in hospital/clinic system, preferably business services.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Practice management system upgrade/conversion experience and/or systems experience and/or training experience.

Essential Functions
  • Customer service
    Through user interviews, review of department policies/procedures, and review of system capabilities to ensure best practice attainment of optimal user functionality, user satisfaction and accordance with corporate goals and objectives.
  • Financial analysis
    Trends and regularly analyzes audit and denial reports to identify root cause(s) and training needs and provide recommendations at the individual and departmental levels.
    Identifies areas of process improvement.
    Analyzes ad hoc reports as requested.
  • Quality audits
    Performs routine quality audits of SRS Business Service Representatives and communicates audit fndings to site leadership and key personnel.
    Develops and enhances QA for monitoring BSR performance related to, but not limited to, collection of insurance, demographic, and billing information.
    Communicates education issues with site management and leadership.
  • Technical support
    For new and/or existing user web profiles.
    Recommends modifications to the applications that would work improve work-flow efficiency and productivity of staff.
    Assists with testing (development of test plans), data validation, implementation, conversion, and upgrades to applications, coordinating modifications as required.
    Investigates user problems and perform troubleshooting activities.
    Demonstrates dedication to enhancement and improvement of skills and departmental objectives.
    Provides technical support to front end users for system rollouts and new projects, including health system modules which focus on patient insurance eligibility and cash collection.
    Assigned to ad hoc projects (financial/business in nature).
    Offers suggestions and volunteers for assignments and committees in order to improve operational performance.
  • Training and education
    Provides initial and follow up BAR Training programs and materials for PFS and Sharp Rees-Stealy Business Office.
    Develops and maintains training materials that are customer-focused & based on needs identified by customers throughout the system.
    Coordinates resources, i.e., training schedule, in a convenient format for staff.
    Sets up online training situations & computer-based learning tools.
    User exercises are provided following training sessions.
    The quality of the training will be considered to meet standard if 75% of the users are able to complete the exercises on the first attempt.
    Users who fail will be given additional training until they are able to complete the exercises.
    Schedules and conducts skills assessments for BSRs throughout SRS system.
  • Training content
    Training materials, User Manual - establish, review and update as necessary.
    Documentation is timely and consistent and accurately reflects the existing policies and procedures.
    Job aids are in a consistent and professional format, accurate with information and supporting educational objectives. These aids will be available to assure smooth integration of new systems.

  • Ability to effectively work with Sharp Management, Staff, and Vendor personnel.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and accurately with people, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to train users, displaying outstanding inter-personal and communication skills to maximize user effectiveness.
  • Ability to practice good time management and to demonstrate good leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of IS Practice Management System, Business IT Systems, and analysis techniques.
