$75.460 - $97.370 - $119.280The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.
What You Will Do
Provide post offer physicals, mandatory medical surveillance and annual health screens. Evaluation and treatment of work related illnesses, injuries, and exposures. Assesses employee fitness for duty. Performs MRO responsibility. Evaluates and treats employees with exposure to communicable diseases and environmental hazards.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a certified Nurse Practitioner program.
- California Registered Nurse (RN) - CA Board of Registered Nursing
- California Nurse Practitioner (NP) Certificate - CA Board of Registered Nursing
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association
- California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number - CA Board of Registered Nursing
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in occupational or community health.
- Adult Nurse Practitioner-Board Certified (ANP-BC) - American Nursing Credentialing Center -PREFERRED
- Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (A-GNP) - American Academy of Nurse Practitioners -PREFERRED
- Certified Occupational Health Nurse-Specialist (COHN-S) - American Board for Occupational Health Nurses -PREFERRED
- Family Nurse Practitioner - ANCC (FNP-BC) - American Nurses Credentialing Center -PREFERRED
- Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP) - American Academy of Nurse Practitioners -PREFERRED

Essential Functions
- Assessments
Performs NH Physical Exam, Annual Physical completely and in a timely manner.
Determines NH limitations, may require input from MD, Manager, and Lead.
Evaluates injured workers and makes AOE/COE determinations.
Performs Medical Review Officer role and Exposure evaluation. - Clinical competency
Able to medically manage common occupational injuries and illnesses.
Able to competently administer immunizations and TB skin tests.
Performs routine INH evaluations.
Able to manage Occupational Exposure to communicable diseases and blood borne pathogens. - Department competency
Participate in a minimum of 1 educational program or in-service per year on a subject pertinent to employee occupational health.
Present a minimum of one presentation to the NP group or client group.
Utilizes ACOEM guidelines in evaluating and treating injured workers' and making AOE/COE determination. - Documentation
Accurately documents in Agility EHR according to workflow. Attentive to detail and completed real time in most situations, or by end of shift if delays occur.
Follows workflows consistently.
Maintains confidential electronic health record. - Patient advocate
Demonstrates knowledge of the employees' rights as an injured worker and advocates appropriately for the client.
Communicates client's needs and concerns to the appropriate personnel.
Extends courtesy and congeniality.
Ensures confidentiality and adheres to the privacy act.
Able to problem solve when clients verbalize concerns. Notifies lead/manager of problem situations. - Training and education
Provides health teaching to employees regarding immunizations, TB skin testing, latent TB infection, communicable disease exposures, and occupational injury and illness care.
Provides client teaching regarding advanced clinical issues.
