$35.670 - $46.030 - $56.380The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.
What You Will Do
Responsible for the daily operations, supervision, and oversight of perinatal imaging services for multiple Perinatal Imaging Clinics throughout San Diego, North County, and South Bay. Ensures compliance with regulatory standards, efficient workflow, and exceptional patient care for high-risk obstetric patients. Provides leadership and support perinatal advanced clinicians, sonographers, support staff and allied health care workers to ensure smooth and efficient operations, quality outcomes and internal and external customer satisfaction. Collaborates with physicians, sonographers, administrative staff, and leadership to optimize performance, promote staff development, and implement best practices in perinatal imaging. Acts as a patient and employee advocate, works cooperatively with physicians, interdisciplinary team and assures communication with and among the staff and clinicians abiding by all of Sharp's Mission and Goals.
Required Qualifications
- 5 Years administrative experience in an outpatient or clinical setting.
- 2 Years leadership experience overseeing staff.
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED

- Bachelor's Degree
Other Qualification Requirements
- Associate's degree in a healthcare related field; or 2 years of relevant experience may substitute for the degree. - REQUIRED
- CPSP Health Educator - PREFERRED
Essential Functions
- Budget
Works with leadership to develop and implement the budget for assigned sites/departments.
Maintain cost efficiency to achieve budget results in regards to supply orders, staffing and equipment.
Monitors monthly trends and financial performance.
Ensures equipment and personnel requirements are identified and included for budget consideration.
Makes suggestions for cost efficiency and savings. - Department Efficiency and Effectiveness
Works with director and staff to improve processes efficiency.
Works with director to expand and grow services within the hospital and community.
Works with staff to complete annual credentialing requirements.
Ensures prompt and efficient return of messages in the department. Monitors patient flow, provider schedules and completion of daily tasks in the department to ensure quality and service standards.
Monitors policy and procedure compliance within the sites/departments. Implements procedural changes, such as new protocols, and educates staff to changes.
Maintains appropriate staffing level within assigned area to ensure appropriate service delivery.
Hires qualified personnel by working with recruitments, assists in coordinating interviews and hires staff based on clinician feedback and input.
Ensures departments' efficiency by overseeing the patient scheduling process for all sites.
Effectively communicates with staff by holding regularly scheduled staff meetings utilizing written agendas and meeting minutes.
Routinely disseminates pertinent information and instructional resources.
Addresses employee concerns related to the work environment and process improvement.
Addresses or brings any compliance or regulatory concerns to leadership's attention.
Enters and identifies the need for work orders. Orders supplies as appropriate. Assists with facility audits as needed.
Manage equipment service maintenance and contracts.
Maintains knowledge of Information Systems applications. Assist all sites with systems changes as needed. - Human Resource Management
Addresses all personnel behavioral issues via Sharp HealthCare's performance management process and conducts coaching as directed by HR and leadership.
Completes staff appraisals within 30 days of its due date according to SHC performance evaluation standard on all staff. Obtains feedback on evaluations as needed.
Completes initial screening interview and involves appropriate provider(s) in final hiring decision. Oversees orientation of new employees to assure appropriate clinical performance and service delivery.
Provide ongoing clinical and service support and supervision.
Communicates performance expectation to staff, assesses developmental needs and initiates action plans to address issues and build skills.
Consistently pro-active in team development and in problem-solving to meet department goals. Conducts assigned departments meetings to assess and resolve needs, issues and foster ongoing communication/cooperation.
Develops and implements action plans that address needs. Facilitates inter-departmental cooperation and teamwork; participates in committees, task forces, special activities or projects.
Acts as a resource and role model for staff. Provides real time coaching/mentoring/training for staff and ensures standard work is being followed.
Coordinates department time cards for timely submission and follows up on variances (payroll corrective action). Reviews API/timecards for accuracy; ensuring no unapproved OT/NM/Meal Penalties.
Rounds on employees at all department sites to ensure job proficiency and follow through.
Assists in departmental training and uses system resources to facilitate education.

- Ability to effectively manage the activities and personnel of several diverse departments and or areas.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills with all internal and external customers.
- Ability to identify strategies to resolve department/area or site problems and implement solutions.
- Ability to work productively and effectively under pressure, remaining flexible with shifting and conflicting priorities.
- Knowledge of operational aspects of running outpatient office services.
- Responsible for the implementation and oversight of new services within the department
- Knowledge of computer application skills.
- Must be bilingual and speak Spanish to service population.
